Experience Highlights: Tom began his professional career at Towers Perrin in 1975. In 1991, he founded CCA Strategies which, at the time of its acquisition by J.P. Morgan in 2006, had 200 employees, including 100 actuaries. Tom retired from J.P. Morgan in 2010 and founded what is now The Terry Group, a healthcare and retirement consulting firm. Tom has consulted extensively in retirement plan design and financing for several of the largest corporations in the US. He is a frequent speaker and writer on related topics. Tom has held leadership roles in various actuarial organizations. He is a past president of both the Conference of Consulting Actuaries and the American Academy of Actuaries, and has served on the board of the Society of Actuaries. In 2016, he served as the president-elect of the International Actuarial Association. Education and Professional Designations: Tom earned a B.S. in math and physics from Tufts University. He received his masters of actuarial science from the University of Michigan. Memberships: He is a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary under ERISA, and a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries.
